We are in the midst of a paradigm shift when it comes to understanding and learning about autism. It’s happening thanks to the growing numbers of autistic and neurodiverse individuals who are finding their voices, telling the world about their firsthand experiences, and speaking out about:

  • How they want to be treated
  • The words we should use when talking about autism
  • What it means to live an autistic life
  • Why autism is a part of human diversity 
  • The need for better supports 

Multicultural Children’s Book Day’s mission extends its diversity to include #ownvoices literature and educational tools researched and written by autistic individuals and their allies. We are using this Autism Acceptance Month, to make the following resources available:
