This post has a free printable with pages that accompany the book I Am New Here by Anne Sibley O’Brien. They could be used without the book but having the book on hand would be nicer, of course. The book is about three English as a Second Language (ESL) children adjusting to new classrooms. At first they do not fit in, but as their skills and talents emerge they begin to belong. One child is a soccer player, one is a writer, and one is an artist. By sharing their abilities, they begin to earn respect of other children who figure out how to be a good friend to the newcomers.
