Fund Off-Line Classroom Celebration Kits for Teachers

Helps us fund off-line classroom celebration kits for teachers!

Donate here:

We want to help teachers celebrate our holiday by giving them a Read Your World Teacher Celebration Kit consisting of 3 diverse children’s books, book swag for their students, and a teacher’s guide for one of the books so that they can celebrate in their classrooms.

For each $100 we receive, we are able to send out 1 Read Your World Teacher Celebration Kit to a teacher who can celebrate with us in January. This is a gift that keeps giving, as teachers can use this kit over and over again each year. With your support, we can reach our goal of sending our kit to 50 teachers to add to their classroom libraries for free.
Cost:
Each of the books costs typically between $9.99 – $19.99; shipping for media mail costs between $4.99 – $10.00 by weight.
  • 3 Diverse Children’s Books + Book Swag = $60
  • Shipping, Packaging Materials, and Handling = $25
  • Administrative Cost = $15
Funding a single Read Your World Teacher Celebration Kit costs $100.
50 Read Your World Teacher Celebration Kits: 50 Kits x $100 = $5000
100 Read Your World Teacher Celebration Kits: 100 Kits x $100 = $10,000
If we raise $5,000, we will be able to send 50 Read Your World Teacher Celebration Kits! The more we raise, the more kits that we can mail out, and the more classrooms can celebrate diverse books!

In this current climate of challenged and banned books, it is more important than ever to get diverse books into the hands of readers. Kids need to both see themselves reflected in a book AND see people who are not like them. This builds both confidence and empathy.
With your help, we can open children’s hearts and minds to do this important anti-racism and anti-bias work. You can make a difference by donating today to Read Your World Inc.
Whether it’s a generous amount, the amount of a cup of coffee, or a dollar to help us cover the transaction fees, donations large and small help tremendously! If you are not able to donate at this time, a simple share on social media will go a long way to support teachers and diverse children’s book creators.
Thank you for joining us to promote diversity in children’s literature! #ReadYourWorld
