Veterans Day | Resources

On November 11th, the United States of America honors the military veterans that served in the armed forces. Veterans Day differs from Memorial Day by commemorating the service of all U.S. veterans, while Memorial Day specifically honors those who have died while in military service. The federal holiday marks the anniversary of the end of World War I and coincides with holidays of remembrance in other countries, including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day. The Armistice with Germany went into effect on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918! The holiday was originally called Armistice day and was renamed Veterans Day in 1954.

Thank you to all who have served and sacrificed to protect our nation! Below are some of our resources for children and families to learn more about Veterans Day!
