Language Lizard has added two new bilingual titles to its extensive catalog, Feathers and Friends and The Best of All Worlds.
Feathers and Friends is a beautifully illustrated story about two immigrant children from different backgrounds who become good friends through their shared interest in birds and the creative arts. Tag along on their adventure as Sami, originally from Afghanistan, meets Rosa, who comes from Ecuador, as they create a book of all the birds they observe. Written by Diane Costa and illustrated by Joyeeta Neogi, Feathers and Friends celebrates friendship, discovery, and nature.
The Best of All Worlds is a story about a girl of mixed heritage who learns to embrace her diverse cultural heritage. The richly illustrated story begins with Katie pondering her cultural heritage on the eve of her school’s Multicultural Day. Her father is Vietnamese and her mother is Irish, but what is she? Follow along as she discovers that she loves making dumplings with her grandma, watching hurling with her mom, and celebrating the Fourth of July with her family. Written by Ellen Becker and illustrated by Lingyan Gu, The Best of All Worlds celebrates multiculturalism, diversity, and family.
Both books are part of the Language Lizard Premium Collection, which includes access to detailed lesson plans, English and Spanish audio, and printable activities to support diversity education. They are available in English-only, as well as in the following bilingual editions: Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, and Ukrainian, with many new languages being added soon.
Feathers and Friends and The Best of All Worlds are the newest additions to Language Lizard’s popular Living in Harmony Series, which helps explain concepts of diversity, kindness, and friendship. Other titles in the Living in Harmony Series include Be Kind, Leo’s Dogs, Together Is Better, We Can All Be Friends, and Who Are We? This popular series is available in many languages and includes teaching resources and audio.
