Now more than ever, we need to come together as a nation of beautifully diverse people.

Multicultural Children’s Book Day (MCBD) is proud to offer an initiative and holiday that encourages discovery, hope, acceptance, inclusion, kindness, and exploration via the pages of diverse children’s literature.

Recently we had an email come through from a NYC school teacher who was on the hunt for new diverse book titles for her home and classroom bookshelf. Her question to us was; did we have access to any new lists or multicultural book recommends?

We LOVE questions like that!

Truth-be-told, there are tons of booklists and resources on the Multicultural Children’s Book Day site and we are adding new ones all the time.

From blog posts, author visits, directories of book and even an e-book, MCBD has a ton of Diverse Booklists and Book Recommends for Teachers and Librarians. Here are a few resources that everyone might find helpful:

Multicultural Children’s Book Day ebook: Fundraising for Teachers and Readers

By now kids are back to school and teachers and librarians are beginning another year of sometimes one of the hardest jobs on earth.

MCBD has always worked very hard to support teachers with free resources, free classroom kits and free diverse books, but now we want to give YOU a way to help them as well! In 2017, MCBD published their first ever ebook filled with multicultural book resources and recommends.

It’s only been a few weeks since the mind-blowingly awesome 1/27/17 MCBD celebration and we can promise all of you that we are still recovering!

Again, the MCBD team was touched and elevated by the overwhelming support and enthusiasm surrounding our diverse children’s literature online celebration. In the days following the crescendo of the event (the crazy-fun Twitter Party) we all have spent hours sifting through the amazing thoughts, comments and requests that were offered up during our Twitter Party on 1/27/17 and picked the best-of-the-best share with our valued 2017 Sponsors.
