Frances Díaz Evans is a Latina author and educator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Universidad del Este in Puerto Rico and a master’s degree in Spanish education from the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. She is the founder and writer of the multicultural, bilingual parenting website, Discovering the World Through My Son’s Eyes and Discovering Español a business dedicated to teaching Spanish online. Through her work as a multicultural and language advocate, she promotes and enhances Latino culture, multicultural literacy, and the Spanish language both online and in her local community. She self-published her first children’s book Coco la cotorra puertorriqueña in which she shares her love for Puerto Rico and spreads awareness on the importance of bilingualism to children and teens around the world. She joined Multicultural Children’s Book Day in our early days advocating for multicultural books as a book reviewer, then as a co-host, and now she’s honored to take on the role of project manager.

Leanna has graduate degrees in Cultural Anthropology and Library Science. She currently dedicates herself to homeschooling her three bilingual/bicultural children and advocating for multicultural education through her blogs. She started her personal blog, All Done Monkey, in 2012, to share tips on multicultural education and parenting. Later that year, she founded Multicultural Kid Blogs, which has grown into a community of 100+ bloggers from all over the world, dedicated to raising global citizens. Through both of these blogs, she has been a co-host and reviewer for Multicultural Children’s Book Day since the beginning and is excited to join the team to help promote this much-needed event.
